Jade Cassidy: Sentimental Silhouettes – Art Meets Fashion in the First Atelier 1C1Y Shirt

For Jade Cassidy, the flowers feel like bodies interacting and telling stories together
Jade Cassidy is a South African-German artist who now lives and works in Berlin. In her art she explores natural forms, emotional moments, and subtle intimacy through multidisciplinary work including sculpture, painting, and installation.
She describes her series “Sentimental Silhouettes” as quick, expressive studies in black acrylic on white paper, which have evolved into a deeply therapeutic process for her. These silhouettes in the shape of flowers, capture memories, feelings, and fragments of movement, transforming them into powerful yet delicate compositions.
For Jade, the flowers feel like bodies interacting and telling stories together — moments where different forms come alive and speak their own language. What makes the series even more intriguing is how viewers see completely different stories in each piece, opening up a space for personal interpretation and reflection.
Her Artwork in the First Atelier 1C1Y Shirt
As a friend of our collective, Jade agreed to collaborate and share one of her works for our very first Atelier piece. The result: a black short-sleeve shirt featuring her vivid floral motif, discreetly hidden beneath the double-layered front. A quiet dialogue between fashion and art — perfectly aligned with the Atelier 1C1Y philosophy.
We are excited to share this intimate project with you — more than fashion, it’s a personal statement.
