What is Second Aid and how is Social Fashion Bringing It?
Fair Fashion that Helps
At 1C1Y, we see fashion as more than just clothes. We believe it’s a powerful way to bring change and hope to the world. Today, we want to share an inspiring story from our project in Iraq, where your purchases are making a real difference.
Understanding Second Aid
You might know about first aid, which helps people right after emergencies by giving them food, clothes, and shelter. But there's something just as important called "second aid." This kind of help isn't about things you can touch, like bandages or blankets. Second aid helps heal hearts and minds after tough times.
Fashion is Helping Children in Iraq
With our partner, ART HELPS, we're bringing second aid to children in Iraq who have lost their homes and live in refugee camps. These camps are safe spaces, but life there is hard. ART HELPS uses art therapy and creative workshops to make life better for these children.
In these workshops, kids paint, draw, sing, and dance. These activities might seem simple, but they have a powerful effect. They help kids express their feelings, build confidence, and see a future full of possibilities. When children create art, they learn to imagine and hope, which is often missing in their tough lives.
How You Help
Every time you buy something from 1C1Y, you support these workshops. Your choice to shop with us allows us to fund more art sessions, buy materials, and pay the wonderful teachers who run these workshops. You're not just buying clothes—you're helping a child find joy and confidence through art.
We are committed to this cause and are thankful for your support. By choosing our clothes, you do more than follow fashion. You bring light to places where it is needed most.
Explore our timeless Social Fashion collection and continue to be a part of this beautiful journey. Together, we can keep making a difference, one piece of clothing at a time.
